2017 tacoma dclb off road 4x4 clanks from what sounds like the front left when I go over bumps. I've tried to get it repaired under toyota warranty but they have failed to identify it and fix it. Where do you think I should start?
Start at an independent, alignment specialty shop for diagnosis and repair.
You have to understand that dealerships avoid doing warranty work because they lose money spending time on it. Often they will do everything they can to make you go away.
So you can either try to work your way up the ladder to corporate, or make a big fuss in some other way. It helps if you are able to record or reproduce the problem reliably. Otherwise you might just have to find a trustworthy independent mechanic to fix it or at least identify and document it like Doc says.
I had a somewhat similar issue with my Toyota and it turned out the strut was defective. That might be the case.
