I have a 2007 Tacoma 2.7L VVT with the famous cold "rattle" start. Any suggestions to cut down or even stop this besides the costly replacement???
P.S. I've seen pre-lube kits online. Worth it?

Add some Lucas oil additive in your oil next change.

There could be a timing chain replacement kit in your future, hopefully, before the engine gets destroyed.
