I'm recently looking to get a 2010 Toyota RAV4 V6 model. The car has 121,000 miles and the dealer is asking for $10,500. Is this a good deal?
It will never be a good deal because used car prices from dealerships are expensive. Even the dealership's used car prices are cheap, it probably has problems. I would advise you to get a used vehicle from a private owner.
That's a good idea too! I actually thought it was a dealership (it was listed in Facebook marketplace) but it is actually a private seller. Is it a still a bad deal?
Yeah like others said, it is still overpriced. You should check the same vehicle sold by other private sellers to compare the price. Some people uses certain websites to check the value of the car.

It is a 12 years old car with well over 100k miles. To me, it is overpriced but on the other hand, in this market, everything is. To find a good deal, you should keep looking and target individual sellers not the dealers.

Regarding the price, you should find out what similar cars are sold for in your area. For the car itself, get all the maintenance records from the seller and definitely have your mechanic check the car before purchase. Those are generally good cars if well taken care of.

Well, IMO you should negotiate the price to see if you can get lower price....Getting a used vehicle from large dealership would be good as the vehicle would have gone thru full inspection, detailing and do repairs before put it on the lot to sell (you can ask for inspection report)....and getting a used vehicle from a private seller would be more of so-so, due to lack of inspection or whatsoever, once you paid the seller and drove off, the seller is usually not responsible for any issues that you would discover at later time...
Hey Rick, I like that idea too. This is actually a private seller. I will definitely try to get a lower price because even though the car is good, I think I can have for a cheaper price.
