Thinking about purchasing a 2005 toyota matrix fwd 5 speed manual with 157000 miles for 4300 dollars. From what ive read and watched it seems like a reliable vehicle do you think it can be considered for daily use

That thing is over 20 years old. You need a good mechanic to give it a thorough examination before purchase. (This needs to be done for any used vehicle.) If the seller won't let you do this run away.
You also need to be prepared for dealing with age-related issues that will likely arise. No matter how reliable it was when new that was a long time ago and age takes its toll. If you can work on it yourself rather than depending on a mechanic for everything that's a plus when dealing with a decades-old car.
