Hi, my Audi A3 says on the dashboard Fuse and was woundering about those fuses under the cars Hood that can those fuses do that the car don’t start or something? Because i have that problem. And what do the fuses do under that cars hood? They are much more bigger fuses than the rest. And i have checked all the Other fuses next to the steering wheel, and they where clean. But haven’t checked those under the cars hood because i don’t know what they do.
Some cars have multiple fuses located under the hood as well as fuses under the dash. Generally speaking the fuses under the hood usually protect the high amperage items but some items not so high amperage are also fuses. Its best to consult your owners manual to find what circuits they do protect or you can find a PDF file on the internet that tell you that info. Just query your year/make/model when doing the search.
My car does not have that owners manual anywere and i think they are called electrical relays that i haven’t checked on because the fuses are clean. and i don’t know what those electrical relays do ether
Basically what is the problem are you trying to solve if i may ask ?
My cars dashboard it Said ”Fuse” and i don’t know why and that is that What i’m trying to solve
Only remedy is that you have to use a test light and check EVERY FUSE for 12v is the first thing to do. Check to see if you have multiple fuse boxs also.
The relays usually dont go bad, and relays handle large amounts of current (electricity) for special engine items.
"fuses are clean" is incorrect.
when you check fuses, u have to look for a SHORT...that is a break in a wire within the fuse, this means u shut the car off, pull the fuse out and visually inspect it with a magnifying glass. If the wire inside has a small, very small break, that is called a SHORT.
Will take another look on all of those tomorrow, and u mean that those relays don’t go bad? When i was watching a video on those relays they Said that they can and needs to be replaced. But what do the relays do?
Or you can just use a fuse tester without having to pull out each one and "guess" if it's ok or not. A relay is not a fuse, it is a switch that is electronically operated. For example, you're headlights use relays to control the low beams and high beams. I would check ALL the fuses related to engine management. Anything that says "ENG" in the diagram check it.
ATTN: recheck fuses 11 and 15 near the dash. they are 5 amp type.
USE magnifying glass after you pull out each, one at a time.
Use a scan tool to find out the code. Then look for fixing the issue.
