My daughter is getting a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder, AWD, with 97000 miles on it today. I think this is a poor choice. Does anyone know of any common issues with this vehicle? Thanks in advance.
suggest to her a Toyota Rav4. Similar SUV, but much more reliable.
uhh, that's a compact SUV, u mean Highlander cuz that competes with the Pathfinder?
@infinitifxfan if she has a family and can afford it, sure. A Rav4 is more in the price range of a 6yo Pathfinder, and has enough room for most people.
it is a good vehicle and very spacious but if she needs a third row then Highlander or 4runner (if she doesn't mind the terrible gas mileage) is the way to go
Hey guys! Yes, she has 3 small kids of her own and two small stepchildren as well. She definitely needs a spacious vehicle. Unfortunately, she already made the purchase even after I told her about the problems. It is an immaculate vehicle and she did purchase the warranty. Hopefully she won't run out of warranty before it breaks. I appreciate the replies!
The CVT is the worst and most expensive part that goes bad around this mileage.
The Jatco CVT is the weakest link and especially at higher mileage. I would pass on it.
Thank you so much for the info! I will pass this on.
They were rolling piles of junk
That generation was basically known as the "Mallfinder" and while they had good and reliable v6 engines, the JATCO CVT transmissions were garbage in those and they were one of the worst model years of the Pathfinder. If u are looking at Midsize SUVs from 2013-2016 I would go with a Highlander, Pilot, 4runner or maybe the Mazda CX-9.
