Thoughts on BMW 2 Series

I am curious what your opinion is on buying a used 2016 BMW 228xi with 32,000 miles on it. Consumer Reports rates these vehicles 5/5 for reliability. Do you think these cars will hold up over time? Or do you think they will become endless money pits?

I would say it is already a money pit. Consumer reports say so many things that may not be true.

Major money pit alert. The poverty BMWs don’t deserve to carry the luxury badge anyway, let alone be expected to be well built.

If you want a reliable BMW, lease one new or buy an older lightly used 3/5 series which still has warranty.

No way should you expect any BMW to be trouble free and/or cheap to maintain, as they start to age.

Thank you! I will not consider buying this.

See here:  essentially just lease the vehicle and return before the bumper to bumper warranty expires.

Also, take what Consumer Reports says with a grain of salt:

These cars do not hold up long-term.
