I've been considering getting a new Volkswagen Jetta GLI with a manual transmission, I like the car and all the features it has but volkswagen reliability concerns me. How reliable would this car be? Would it get to 100k miles with no major issues?

I would be surprised if you were able to drive it for a week without problems. Volkswagen is not in my top 100 vehicle brands to own, unless it's a 1973 Beetle.

If you must have it, lease it and get it out of your system.
VW reliability is very iffy these days, but atleast you’re considering a MT..

It depends on how well you take care of it. Even then, there will be some electrical gremlins that would be annoying at best or a major headache at worst.
