Hello Scotty , hope u are having a good day. My father owns a 2016 Hyundai Accent with a CVT. I hear ticking noise at idle. It runs perfect. I did some research and it turns out many Hyundai’s have this problem , what causes it?

You might need valve adjustment or ,depending on the model, the variable valve timing system is having issues. How many miles on the clock?

My humble unprofessional opinion is that you are just like me, looking for problems where there are none. I think basically all used petrol cars have ticking noise on idle. I had mine checked on mazda 6 and the result is that clearance on all valves is within tolerance. No problem there.

Check to make sure you don't have a loose exhaust manifold or loose connections in the exhaust system.
