Hi, I have a Mercury Grand Marquis 2011. With 160k miles. I hear a ticking sound that comes from the engine every few minutes especially when the car is cold. It’s a tick every couple of minutes. The sound comes also when I turn off the car, I tried to determine the source and couldn’t, but it’s around the fuel injectors on the passenger’s side.

Your hydraulic lifters may be starting to go out, or a fuel injector may be starting to tick. You can confirm this by listening with a mechanic's stethoscope.
