Hey Scotty how are you? 2001 Honda Civic LX 5 Speed with a lil over 154K miles. This question never came to mind until now but ever since I bought the car last year of September when I turn the steering wheel at idle left or right and sometimes when turning/cornering the tie rod ends make a clunk sound and I assume its because of its age? cause they look fine neither are loose nor damaged. I have no other symptoms other then hearing them clunk after turning the steering wheel. Should I consider getting them replaced at some point this month or deal with the current?
I think the real test is to jack up the car put your hand at 10 o clock and 4 clock and see if the wheels wobbles.. get a mechanic for a second option
It could also be worn out power steering bushings or the axle if it klonks while turning only. But do the wiggle test like the comment above, that's gonna help you alot.
