[Solved] Timing belt replacement and associated items.

As a transplant from NC to CA a few years back, I finally found a mechanic whom I trust to replace the timing belt on my 2004 Toyota Avalon 3.0 V6 1MZ-FE engine. I was at the local Honda dealership yesterday getting supplies to change motor oil and ATF for my wife's car and there he was in the parts department ordering parts for his shop.

So, I had already decided to use the Aisin timing belt with water pump kit...found on Rock Auto at a good price, but they did not have Aisin power steering and AC/Alternator belts.

Questions: (Sorry to group these questions, but they seemed interrelated to the changing of the timing belt and water pump.)

1. Is Gates or Bando an acceptable brand for the PS and AC/Alt belts? I do not see Aisin or Mitsuboshi available at Rock Auto.

2. What brand of camshaft and crankshaft seals would you recommend? I do not see Aisin available at Rock Auto.

3. What brand of radiator hoses would you recommend. Gates, Continental, other?

4. Should I use genuine Toyota Super Long Life Coolant or other?

I plan to use a Toyota thermostat.

I welcome any other suggestions.

Thanks.

Thanks to @Kaizen for responding to my question regarding coolant. Does anyone have advice regarding questions #1, #2 and #3? Thank you.

Gates and Continental are good brands for belts and hoses. Bando is the OEM for Toyota. Fel-Pro, SKF, National, and Timkin in general are good brands for seals.

@ChuckTobias Thanks for your recommendations.

4. I personally get the Toyota long life for my Toyota. It just takes the guesswork out if it, and isn’t much more expensive, considering the rarity I use it.

However, sometimes that is not available, so my backup is pink/red Zerex for Asian vehicles, specifically for Toyota, Scion, Lexus.

Thank you @kaizen
