Scotty,
I am trying to help my mom with her 2013 Audi Q5. This car sat for a couple of years due to my father passing and we are getting the car back on the road. All seems OK with the exception of the tires. They seem to have gone out of round while sitting. I filled them with air and they still seem to be bouncing quite a bit. Is there a fix for this (rebalancing) or should we just get new tires? Thank you!
Tires on cars that sit for a long time can "flat spot" like you are experiencing.
Did the tires go flat during this storage? If so, they may have been damaged by that, with the belts of steel or kevlar separating, which would make it unsafe to drive. You may need to get a tire-knowledgeable person to take a look at them. Odds are good you will need to replace the tires if the tires were flat for a length of time.
How far have you driven the car?
Get new tires.
I second above. Get all four, … identical tires! All wheel drive makes this most important.
F.S.
drive around a it until the tires are warmed up. If the bounce doesn't go away, then you'll have to replace them.
Unbalanced tires will cause shake but not bounce.
