Honda 2012 CRV with just over 200,000km. We have a torque converter shudder. After doing some research, i am thinking about slowly changing the transmission fluid. Thinking about changing out about 10-15% of fluid driving is for a few hundred km and then changing out 30%, etc and keep going until all the fluid is changed. Mind you I am not sure of the service history as we bought this used. The fluid is on the brown side of the colour scheme. Will doing this fix the shudder or is there something else I should do. Other than that the transmission shifts fine. Thanks and love watching Scotty everyday.
Yes, … it might just help. Warm it up fully, pull the plug, … drains about 3-1/2 litre at a time. Clean the plug. Refill through dipstick tube. Do it 2 or 3X, … until fluid is nice red and clear. Note the amount of filings on the drain plug each time. If lots and lots, … and lots? Most likely it was never serviced, … and isis worn out. A bit of filings is normal. Good luck, …
