[Solved] Was my Camry recalled

Have a 2007 Camry with the 2az-fe engines that burn oil due to the piston rings. Can find lots of service bulletins from Toyota US about the service enhancement or recall. Can't find any information about Australia. Hell, I can't even see the usual stickers I'm used to seeing under the hood of Toyotas here either, like the one showing what engine is in the car, dummy stickers like what refrigerant is used, nothing.

Don't even know if my car is affected, was my car even built at the same plant? I'm worried I might have to do some ring work, but would like to get it done BEFORE it becomes a problem. Bought this 2007 Camry off an elderly man only has 21,000 miles once you convert it from kilometers. How can I tell if mines affected? Don't even know where to start.

All good turns out all of them in Australia arent affected only US ones. 🙂

I would change the engine oil religiously every 3,000 miles (or 4,828 km) to mitigate the issue or improve your odds at least.  Be sure to also use oil with the correct viscosity and that meets Toyota specs.  Also, stick to one brand and don’t keep switching brands.  See interesting insight below from Toyota Master Tech The Care Care Nut on oil consumption in Toyota’s:

Only if you see it burns lots of oil, the piston rings needs to be serviced.
