Hi Scotty. I have a Toyota celica vvtli t190. With an electrical problem it will not rev over 6400rpm. Toyota could not diagnose the problem a local garage recommend changing the crank position sensor. I wondered if the crank position sensor would show this type of problem.

Hi.

What does this engine red line at? Are you just hitting the rev limiter?

Hi jeepdriver. The vvtli engine rev to 8500rpm. It’s a Toyota Suzuki engine. 1800cc with 190bhp

Hi Gareth.
I had no idea that engine revved so high. They are great engines though. My brother had it in his MR2.

I remember Scotty saying to check fuel filter and fuel pressure if a car had problems high up the rev range.

Hi Jeepdriver
It feels more electrical to me as it’s always the save spot it gets to. Thanks for the steer. I will check fuel filters.
