Hi my mother has a 2012 toyota highlander with the regular key and sometimes a random door just won't unlock and we don't know why its almost always a different door each time but sometimes the same door won't unlock multiple times using the key in the door and the key remote

First thing I would check is fuse and key fob battery. the fuse and key fob are easy enough to check.pray it is not the relay, if you know how to check and if the relay be dead DO NOT ATTEMPT TO WORK WITHOUT SOME ELECTRICAL BACKGROUND. I think it requires soldering but I don't remember. Good luck.
