Being that Toyota has assembly plants all over the world including Canada, Kentucky, Indiana, San Antonio, Etc. When it comes to all Toyota parts like engines, rims, interior, windshields, transmissions.... Besides being assembled elsewhere, Are all the parts made all in Japan?
China still exports a ton of parts for automotive. As much as people like to talk crap, myself included being a chinaman myself, they still account for billions in exported materia. Plastics and metals especially. I wouldn't put it past Toyota or any company to not consider a cheaper alternative. Toyota already had the thing a couple years back where they wanted every wire in the car to be white to save cost due to colored wire being more expensive. It was supposed to be implemented this year but I haven't seen anything about it yet.
Most parts are manufactured on site, or sourced locally.
And for US factories, locally includes Mexico and Canada.
