Toyota service required message 2020 rav4 LE

Drove up our driveway, the engine skipped or transmission shuddered..not sure. A message came up I can’t clear. “Toyota dealer service required”. I scanned for codes…Innova 5610. All modules are green, no codes. How do I clear the message. It’s not service reminder message. Toyota even sent my wife a text asking if she would like to make an appointment for service. Hmm.

Toyota dealer service required”

It means you're due for an oil change.

Instructions for clearing your light are in your owner's manual.

Always post your odometer per the posting instructions please.

@imperator Oil change reset has been done. It’s not that

how did you do it?

@imperator Good news. Apparently this is covered under a recall. Stopped by the Toyota dealer. Since the car is displaying the message the repair is covered . I received a text message from Toyota to schedule service. It seems it’s the coolant bypass valve, big issue on these models also an airbag recall… 86,000 miles.

Thanks for the update as several Toyota models are affected by the faulty coolant bypass valve and are being covered under warranty by Toyota Customer Care. Full details are provide here: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2025/MC-11012734-0001.pdf

@hixster Thanks for the Toyota info. I had the vehicle back from the dealer next day. They did not have the parts for the airbag recall yet.
