I have a 1997 Toyota T100 xtra cab 4x4 with the 3.4L V6. It threw a P0303 code for cylinder 3 misfire. It sometimes runs fine(or not fine) for 10-20 minutes, and sometimes it will misfire and then work fine and start misfiring again while driving down the road. I have swapped coils and spark plugs with other cylinders but the misfire is still on #3. The truck vibrates a lot and has a large loss of power as it happens. Check engine light will also flash. What could be causing this?
Thanks guys, compression test was good, ended up checking the injectors and it was making a weak click while the others were making a much stronger click, so the injector was at fault. Rare on Toyota but I guess it is bound to happen sometime!
Thanks for keeping us posted. They all break, even Toyotas..
Do the compression test on cylinder 3. The rings on that he might have gone bad.
