Hi
I have a bmw 1999 e46 automatic.
It will not crank when I turn the key, the light on the dash come on like everything is ok but the gear indicator shows that it's on "s" but the lever is on "p" even when I move up and down it still shows the same.

Prayer just need a new switch. It won't start if it doesn't know it's in park or neutral and if the switch isn't working right that will happen
How do I locate the same switch

Could be near the transmission, I guess.
