Should Transmission fluid leak out when replacing a cv axle?

Hi, Really appreciate you and your youtube videos! I recently replaced my cv axle (driver side) and when I removed it no transmission fluid leaked out, it looked pretty dry. I'm thinking that's not good. Let me know what you think.

Thanks, Again!

What is the year, make, model, mileage, transmission type?

It's not supposed to leak out. If it did that would mean seals on the inner drivers were bad.

FWIW. Check your owners manual, or the manufacturers repair manual if you have access, for the following.

I know on some Honda/Acura's, when you change out a certain CV Axle, it says to drain and refill the transmission.

For example, on my 1999 Honda Accord CV Axles, the driver side could be changed without draining and refilling the transmission, but the passenger side needed to be drained and filled.

I have no idea why.  I don't even know if it really necessary.  But that's what it says to do in the manufacturers repair manual.
