Hello Scott,
Honda dealership wanted me to change transmission fluid twice? Does this make sense?
Well they're just doing that to get more of the dirty stuff out cuz you only get about oh one quarter of the fluid out when you drain it it's just kind of a trick to try to get more dirt out a better thing is to change it every 30-40,000 miles then it never gets dirty in the first place
Yes, it is a drain and fill procedure.
Only about 1/3 to 1/2 of transmission fluid drains each time.
So, the dealer procedure is to drain and fill 2-3 times to reach a higher percentage of new fluid.
Do take Scotty's advice going forward and do 1 drain/fill every 30-40k. It is simpler, and all a Honda needs.
If your tranny oil was extremely dirty that is a procedure that people do.
Another thing that people do (mostly on dual clutch automatics) is changing the oil, and then changing the oil again after 20k-30k Km (~15k miles)
