Transmission fluid

Hi Scotty.  Just in the process of buying a weekend toy, a 1997 Toyota Celica GT Convertible, automatic transmission, 230,000 miles.  Was part of an estate sale.  Bagged it for $1200.  Deceased owned since 2004 and his brother in law is dealing with sale.  He could tell me a few things about the car, recently had a new convertible top and timing belt change but not much else.  BTW it runs and drives like a dream.  No codes.

My question; Would you recommend changing the tranny fluid, by that I mean removing drain plug and putting the same amount of fluid back in?  It does shift smooth but I cannot confirm when and if it has been changed.  What would you do?  Thanks in advance.

To me, it seems like a good idea to change all the fluids after buying a used vehicle.
