I just bought a 2018 Toyota Highlander XLE 2 wheel drive with 43,xxx. Should I change the trans fluid every 50,000. What’s the best way to change it? Can I drop the pan and change the filter as well? Thanks for any info.

While I find this link very usefully I was looking for more specific info for the make and model and drive train. I have changed trans fluid in older cars just never anything this new. The Service manual doesn’t give recommendations for changing transmission fluid as this is supposed to be a lifetime fluid. If you can believe that.
Any car a safe rule of thumb is drain fill in that mileage range 30-50k is safe. With the drain and fill if the transmission becomes worn it’ll leave some older fluid in it to help with friction in the clutches
