Scotty has mentioned he drains Transmission Fluid every 30-40k miles, but also has mentioned numerous times if you have a car that has not had that drained and it's at very high mileage, it is best to just leave it and pray it continues, or at best replace a quart with transmission additive.
A friend of mine bought a 2011 Volvo S80 from a dealership. We do not know anything about the history. It has 100k miles on it. Should we drain the fluid and continue to do so every 30-40k? Or should we just leave it?

very high mileage ... It has 100k miles on it.
100k isn't high mileage.
