Hey Scotty ! 👋🤞 97 v8 grand Cherokee 283 what will happen if Lucas p.s.f stop leak is put into the transmission , my brother mistakenly put that in instead of transmission stop slip (lucas) cause I had both in my storage , will it ruin the transmission 42re transmission
It could. Maybe not right away, but over time.
Thanks I'm gonna drain it out and hopefully their isn't any lasting effect on the transmission probably be better if I change the filter as well huh?

To be on the safe side just change your fluid and you should be fine.

The technical data appears to be very similar in both data sheets, but the purpose is different. They likely differ in additives, and the Lucas PSF Stop Leak probably has stuff in it that isn't meant to go into a transmission. Hope some other folks might have further insights.
You are much safer putting a little of that in, than say coolant. That stuff will really do a number on a transmission. Like others said, I wouldn't lose any sleep, but it may be a good time to switch your trans fluid out.
