Should I change the Transmission fluid in my 2007 Dodge Nitro?

I have a 2007 Dodge Nitro 4.0L V6 with 4wheel drive. It has 154000 miles. Should I change the the transmission fluid or leave it. Not have issues yet?

Clarification: when was the last time the transmission fluid was changed?  Also, what color is the transmission fluid and does it smell burnt?
