Hello Scotty, I've heard you multiple times saying that the problem might be because of a transmission slip. So I was wondering what is transmission slip and how do I diagnose it in my car? Thanks
Does your transmission shift smoothly through each gear without lagging?
Does your engine rpm tend to increase while the transmission tries to shift, without your vehicle speed increasing?
Does your transmission shift erratically through the various gears?
Thanks for the reply, the one thing that I noticed is when it shift, it tends to lunge itself forward slightly, what could be the cause for that? The car is Chevrolet Captiva 2012.
Has it started doing this recently? Does the transmission make any clunking noises during shifts? When was the last time you changed the ATF?
I can't remember exactly when, but It's already been a while since it first started, maybe a year or two ago. As far as I know, it doesn't make any clunking sounds. I am also not sure about the service record of the vehicle, since it was a second hand car.
What’s the present mileage? You may want to go through this, before considering changing your ATF -

Probably less than 200.000 km, but I am not too sure about that, again because of the second hand thing. Thank you for giving me the link, I will be sure to learn a lot from it. I was just curious on what might be wrong with the vehicle, whether the problem is caused by the computer module or the transmission itself.
Thank Joe for it & all the best!
