Hi Scotty
Big fan here in Houston, and I'm looking for a new used car for my growing family. Wife just had our second kid 2 weeks ago.
Im torn between a used Kia Borrego, honda pilot, or Kia Sorento.
My budget is 8-12k, or if I finance 18k. (Would like to pay cash on used preferably) and I like the third row options, but I like that the Borrego is body on frame for towing. Only thing is I can't seem to find anything online about their reliability because of the limited run on these.
What would you recommend?
Thanks
Dylan

Scotty absolutely loves a Honda Pilot. You will find him going through a used one in one of his videos.
Well used car is going to be nebulous to say one over the other.
I'd be looking at the owners, and the machine itself first because you know someone who did a lot of towing, is gonna put stress on that tranny. A soccer mom driving a pilot to the mall, to school, to grocery store, a vacation, probably going to be taking it to a dealer for mechanic maintenance. Not that I love dealers, but it'll depend on what the best you can find.
I'm not a kia person by any means. And I'd say for the most part, they're crap and I'd avoid them, lots of cheap parts used to cut corners. My good friend has an Optima and my SIL had a forte. Neither interior felt very well designed, and the forte died albeit after being beat on, but not nearly as tough as a Civic, and it was more expensive bc it was 'sport' forte.
It'll depend on who's doing the selling and the condition of what they got. But I'd be Pilot over KIA.
