Trying to get My moneys worth

Hi Scotty so I have a bit of a dilemma. I have an 04 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer Edition 5.4L. It’s around about 200,000 miles on it. I got it in 2016. I have already put more in it than I paid for it but it’s functionally doing just fine. About the only major thing I can tell that’s wrong with it but it doesn’t affect the functionality of it is the Sun/Moon (whichever it’s called) doesn’t work. We have sealed it so the rain doesn’t get in and U can bring it through a car wash ETC, oh am I believe the DVD player has never worked since We owned it but neither of which take away from the functionality of the vehicle. The KBB says it should be worth in a private sale around $6,000.00 but no one I talk to seems to be willing to give Me $1,000.00 for it the last time I tried using it as a trade in they were offering $500.00 the other day when I tried one of the online places they were saying their offer was $300 some odd dollars. We just last Year in September got a 2020 Camry XLE V6. I want a secondary vehicle (preferably SUV, preferably Toyota, preferably not smaller than a Highlander, most ideal would be to trade the Expedition straight up as payments are not really in My budget considering I’m paying on the Camry). Now the dilemma is I would prefer no older than 2014 as I have grown accustomed to Apple Car play although from what I can tell that’s a small minor monetary upgrade at worst but I also noticed that 2012 was when they started using the telescoping steering wheel as I am a big guy 6’0” and even though I have lost around 200lbs I’m still at about 365lbs. Will the telescoping steering wheel on the Highlander make much of a difference for Me and do U know anyone who might be willing to do a trade like that straight up? One last thing which year for this situation would U recommend? Normally I would ask My Brother vehicle questions but as he passed away on May 18 2021 I can no longer do that 😢😢

If you are trying to get some money off that vehicle, try your local neighborhood and see what people would offer to pay. You could also put it up on craigslist as well. As far for the replacement, try a Toyota Sequoia.

I guess I should have added some more details My Wife doesn’t want bigger than a Highlander while I don’t want smaller than a Highlander I would prefer the Sequoia but We also want more fuel efficiency than the Expedition. I would actually prefer Myself the new all electric Hummer SUV or even the F150 Lightning but My Wife isn’t sold/interested in going electric

Toyota is planning a new hybrid SUV in 2023 called the grand highlander which is slightly larger than the current Highlander. I don't know if you plan on waiting that long but that's also new and fuel efficient.

It would be nice but again “The Wife” doesn’t want Hybrid/Electric. I wouldn’t mind I drive a Prius all day long for work. It kills Me because of how big I am being in that sardine can all day long but that place either has those or Pre 2010 Sonata’s both for Me are cramped. I guess I’m SOL everything is to much money I don’t have enough saved to buy something outright and no one is willing to give Me anything reasonable for a vehicle I payed over $7,000 for put even more that that into it and supposedly there is a “Chip Shortage” at the moment that everyone keeps claiming they will pay U extra because of that BS if U ask Me
