I personally prefer naturally aspirated, but that is harder and harder to come by these days.

Turbo engines used to be a premium or performance upgrade. Basic and regular cars were naturally aspirated, and premium and performance models were turbo.

Now a days, turbos are being used to make basic and regular cars. Sure a premium or performance model may have turbos too, but its not exclusive to them anymore.

If buying turbo I would say first Honda and then Toyota. Honda has been making turbo engines for a long time and there's actually a video from Scotty on the new Civic which he says Honda has fixed the oil dilution issue. Like the above comment, yes naturally aspired is the best choice for longevity, but if the car you want doesn't have a naturally aspired version then Honda or Toyota turbo is okay.

Only if it's a well designed turbo engine then it should last as long as naturally aspired ones. I'll say Toyota and Honda their new turbo engines are proven to be reliable as far as I'm concerned.

I imagine you're asking about gasoline engines in your question, but I thought I'd mention VW has a long history of making good turbo-diesels (despite the occasional emissions scandal, LOL).

Honda motors are top tier.

Toyota always makes a good product, and quickly fixes things when they mess up.

Turbo Subaru engines are good (as long as you dont put a crappy COBB tune on it, beat the snot out of it, then complain its not reliable, like most WRX owners do).
