Good day everyone. My uncle has a project car that being his 2003 Honda Civic EX. He asked me which would be best for his 1.7L engine a turbo or supercharger? I didn't know how to answer that cause truth be told that's a hard one so I thought hmmm let me get votes in here.

I wouldn't do either on a motor with that small amount of displacement. If you HAVE to pick one, I'd do a supercharger because it basically bolts on.

A turbo requires a lot of piping, an intercooler, etc. etc.

Both are expensive but the supercharger is cheaper to buy, maintain, and tune for.

Alrigh I'll let him know

Supercharger all day long, but it's a waste of money on that car.

He's undecided he might do an engine swap instead and go from there

I would go turbocharger because I hate the electric car type sound a supercharger makes.

That is no reason to recommend a turbocharger. A lot goes into installing a turbocharger: it’s a whole system you have to account for and not merely slapping on a part.  Superchargers can be bolt on and less involved, although depending on power levels OP wants sometimes bottom end needs to be beefed up to handle the boost/additional power.
