Hi Scotty, 

I have a 2012 Landcruiser 78 Series with 240k km (150k miles). It’s has the Toyota 1HD diesel engine, that while extremely reliable is rather underpowered. I am considering adding a turbo, however have been warned that this could reduce the reliability and potentially cause issues with piston crown and cylinder head. It appears that a low pressure turbo is the best option. 

question is whether it’s advisable to do this to a 10 year old motor, and if so, would you also do the injectors and fir an imtercooler? 

The truck is used for over landing and not rock crawling, however extra power would be appreciated when overtaking and driving on sand.
