Hi Scotty!
Happy New Year to you and yours and hope that your move to Tennessee is all that you wished for.
I have a 2002 F-150 in Sebring Fl with 1/4 tank of fuel in it. I last put gas in it about 14 months ago and think it was at Murphy's in Sebring. As far as I know, the ethanol content of Regular fuel at Murphy's is up to 10%. Due to Covid restrictions we have not been down to Florida since Dec of 2019 and the truck has not moved since. I'd like to get your professional opinion regarding the probable fuel condition in the tank at this time. I'm planning to go down in February of 2020 at some point, which would make the fuel in the tank about 14-15 months old. Do you think it's safe to drive the truck to a fuel station and fill it with supreme fuel or should I have it towed to a garage and have the gas tank emptied and cleaned out without starting it at all? My fear is that the fuel may be contaminated at this point and starting the vehicle could possibly cause major issues with the fuel delivery components of the engine. Scotty, am I over reacting and being too cautious about the fuel or am I being justified in contemplating going the safer route by towing the truck and getting the tank emptied and cleaned. I really treasure your opinion on this matter. Thanks in advance Scotty and keep up the good work. It's difficult to find a trusted and honest voice regarding vehicles on the net. You're the man, Cheers!

I wouldn't worry about 14 months. Just fill the tank up with some fresh regular fuel and carry on.
Thank You!
