My brother is considering purchasing a 2011 Lexus GS 350 (rear wheel drive) with 88,000 miles. Looking for the car to be a good, reliable daily driver for the next 5-6 years – he will be putting on about 18-20K miles per year during this time. If everything checks out on the pre-purchase inspection, is $10,500 a reasonable price for this car? Anything in particular to be aware of for ownership/regular running costs as the car pushes past 100K miles? Thanks in advance.

In California, that is a reasonable price. They are reliable cars.

The 2011-2012 seems like the best. Common problems are usually because of the cheap quality like melting dashboard and exterior cosmetic issues, but that was rare for the 2011 model year according to carcomplaints.com.

All in all, a good buy, just remember to maintain it!

The link was for the ES350. Here is for the GS350: https://www.carcomplaints.com/Lexus/GS_350/

The most common problem in 2011 was the dashboard rattling (man Toyota has a hard time making dashboards). 2013 introduced many new issues like battery issues, not reported in 2011 or 2012.
