Hey guys so I live in NY and I'm looking to buy my first car here at the moment the 2 best options I have found are a 2000 Lexus Rx300 sport with 217k miles automatic transmission  only issue that seller told me is that heat works only sometimes but the heated seats work fine, he is asking for $2200. My second option is a 2001 Acura MDX 4x4 with 273k miles the issues on this one are just paint scratches this one is going for $2000. Which should I choose and what should I look out for in each. I will mostly be using these vehicles to make deliveries and work them

I’d get neither. Especially since you intend to use it as your daily driver.

Do you need an SUV? If yes, look for a CR-V/RAV4. They’ll be much cheaper to maintain with your intended running.

If you don’t need an SUV, with $2000, I’d look for a Corolla/Civic.

No matter what you buy, have it checked out by a good mechanic, before you buy it.

Yeah I kinda want to stick to a SuV since it has more cargo area I mean I guess I can save up a bit more to get up to 3 or 4k

Welcome to scotty forum! I am looking for my first car too. I looked at lexus and acura both the sedans and came away thinking Acura is way overrated and maybe isn't really a luxury brand. Movinng on to your question how much do you have to spend. Because that is a lot of miles on a car. I would get the Lexus over the Acura, but if you only have about 2k I would look for something else, a luxary car like that at that price is just too worn out IMO. How much do you have to spend?

At the moment I only have about 2k I mean I think I can save up a bit more to bump it up to like 3 or 4k by March and see what's on the market

That is what you should probably do, if you have to get an acura you could consider a tsx but if all you want is a to b then get a civic , crv, accord, camry, corolla, or Rav4

I agree with In thrust we trust, usually I am a fan of luxury cars but with that amount of money, get a non luxury brand but even good corollas will be around 4k so I would save up a little more.
