For this honda above, what is up with color of the things under the hood, did this guy mod anything? And correct mileage is about 197,000
I was wondering your thoughts on which of these would be best? I'm interested and going to hopefully look at them and test drive. I hear these are some of the best years for these model years. I'm just in need of something on the cheaper end that will still last a few years.

The guy painted the valve cover gasket and changed some stuff. You can ask the seller if he modified anything or not, but regardless, I would not consider it. Too old with too many miles. The Camry is a better choice compared to the Civic.

The Honda may have had the painted engine bay parts just for cosmetic mods, but you never know (what else was done) and wouldn't want to take the risk on that car. Of the two, the Camry is the best option.
