I was looking at buying a older excursion ( 02 to 05 range) and was curious if the v10 engines in those were pretty reliable. I won't be driving this vehicle a lot. Just to pull my camper and occasional trips. Should I look at the v10 or just try to find a diesel instead. Thanks.

You don't see very many V10s on the road. Lots of moving parts. I would stay away.

More cylinders more problems.
Get a diesel. Those 7.3s have mad torque.
