Hello Scotty.
What is a good van for van living. Was thinking about a late 90's Ford van or a Toyota Sena. Something I can drive around in So.Cal.
Thank you.

IDK about Van Living, but a used Toyota Sienna is certainly very reliable and roomy. Second generation (2004-2010) has more room than the first generation as well, so that's another factor to consider.
The long ford vans have lots of room in them and blend into the background. Rent is expensive there and I know why you want to do this.
The big long Ford Econoline vans from 2008 to 2015 are big, tough, roomy, lots of parts and don't require a PHD to work on them. They are good on fuel as long as you don't buy a junk 5.4 v8 or V10 or 6L diesel engine. The 4.6 and 5.0 are good choices.
There are white decals that can go over the windows in a window van that make it impossible to see in but allow you to see out without curtains. You see them on busses with advertisements and covering windows on FedEx trucks so people cannot see in.
Passenger or white cargo vans are good vehicles to start with. Conversion vans are a good second choice but not as big as the 250 or 350 cargos.
