When purchasing a used vehicle from a private seller, Scotty always says to have it checked over by a qualified mechanic. I totally agree but what if the seller is 50 miles away from your own trusted mechanic? Is the seller going to let you just drive off with his vehicle, his plates and his insurance? Thanks: Dave 🙂

I'm in your same boat at this moment... I just watched this Scotty vid that gave me some ideas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLOpo71JtIU . (Although both of those tools will run you over $160), Also (sorry if this is blasphemy on Scotty's forum), but ChrisFix has an extremely detailed checklist for inspecting a used car.
