I have a 2006 Volvo V50 2.4 automatic . It jerks when coming to a stop, is the transmission going out ?

Do you mean that it jerks when it is downshifting as you slow to a stop, or when you've already stopped and you shift it into Park? Are the RPMs going up when the jerk happens?

it does it when it comes to a stop and today it just revved up without changing gear

Probably just slipping. Those Aisin Tranny are good, even it slips, it still can last for a while. Btw, my dad has a 05 V50 in Hong Kong with 121k km stop and go only, and its still doing fine.
