Hi guys, my cousin had a problem with his Audi A3 1.6 ap leaking coolant but I could not for the life of me find out where it was coming from. Looked to be his radiator but his engine oil was foamy as hell and full of the white gunk so I told him it could be the head gasket He told me he was not so bothered about the car so I told him he may as well try a stop leak additive. The leak was pretty bad it would drain out the reservoir with in 15 minutes of the car running.
Anyways not expecting much i drained all of his old fluid out flushed it and refilled with water and then added a product called k seal to the water and to my amazement it stopped the whole leak in a matter off about 30 seconds. We flushed his engine and droped the old oil and refilled with new oil also. I will keep this post updated on how long this product keeps the car running with out a leak but very impressed with how quick it sealed what I'd consider a heavy leak.
Which year and how many miles?
2004 and I believe it's around 113000 miles not much really by the cars standards still see many of them on the roads
I would get rid of that ticking time bomb ASAP.
Almost 3 months down the line and the car he has been using daily is running fine with no leaks
I'm glad to hear that. Just realize that you are rolling the dice and I hope you are as enthusiastic when it comes up snake eyes and goes south.
You know, maybe he can't afford to get rid of that "ticking timebomb" and buy something else.
Then maybe he shouldn’t be driving an endless money pit to begin with..
@InThrustWeTrust Nailed it. Never buy a German car unless you have the disposable income to repair it when it inevitably breaks down.
@the_donald I suggest you read the forum rules, before you go any further.
