Hai Scotty,
My Car Is Toyota Carina Gt 1997-At-210
Is loosing water level in the radiator and Reservoir tank even after in every short trip.
I used to refill the reservoir tank every morning before I start the engine.
But I dont find any leakages in the car
Please can you give me a solution....
Thanks a lot.
It's either leaking or burning. As has been mentioned, pressure test the cooling system to look for leaks that may not be obvious. Check your water pump for leakage. You can also add dye to the cooling system and use a UV light to look for leaks. If you cannot find a leak then you may have a bad head gasket or cracked cylinder head that's letting coolant into the combustion chambers or engine oil. Any white smoke out the exhaust? Does your oil show signs of coolant contamination, or is the oil level increasing? (Another possibility would be if you have an automatic transmission with the cooler integrated into the radiator an internal crack could let coolant into the trans fluid. However the trans would die pretty quickly in that case.)
On my ancient Audi, I had a radiator-internal leak of the coolant into the ATF. The automatic transmission did not die, thanks God, although the leak took years to diagnose. Problem was, that this leak was common to all modern new radiators I could get hold of for my specific and relatively rare Audi model - all of them, although branded differently, were one and the same cheap Chinese make, having one and the same problem from the factory.
It is very easy to see if the ATF is contaminated with coolant - the ATF would then have small bubbles in it when the transmission is hot and the motor is running. Those bubbles are well-visible even on the ATF dipstick, and are well recognizable in the drained ATF.
Does the radiator cap seal fine? You might try changing the radiator cap for now. Pressure test the cooling system.
Hai Thank your Answer..
I have checked the radiator pressure check there was no leak anywhere
Any ways i will change the radiator cap and see.
By the way the radiator cap pressure amount is 0.9 ,do I require more that oris this standard
What's the unit for this? If it is psi, it is definitely low.
