Hello, I have a 2013 Toyota Avanza 1.3L AT with 80k kms. The waterpump is making a faint grinding noise but is not leaking. I am sure it is from the waterpump as I used a long screwdriver to listen and isolate where the noise is coming from. The noise is faint and can only be heard if you listen closely with the hood open. Should I replace it or can I wait and see if the noise gets louder?

If the pump is belt-driven double-check by removing the fan belt and spinning the pulley by hand, feeling for any roughness in the bearing. Replace it if the bearing is not smooth.

I would replace it with a new OEM water pump.
Use the advice from @chucktobias to check if there are any other faulty pulleys. Sometimes, there may be more than one -
