Hi,

I have 2013 Mazda 6 v-6 3.7 l Engine (Ford duratec) ..current mileage 59k Miles have heard lot of stories related to water pump failure damage that can cost thousands to fix and even engine replacement is a possibility.

Here are my questions.

1. How long can a water pump last ( mileage) considering all services are done regularly - oil change, coolant is all up and no leakage noticed.

2. Will it be ok to replace the water pump as a precaution to avoid a situation people experience usually on highway and end up paying thousands later due to pump failure

3. Water pump (in 2013 Mazda 3.7 l V-6) , which is best reliable brand?

It’s still a partial engine out just to replace the water pump (about $1200-$2000+ job and very involved).

Wouldn't be a bad idea to change it but it's an expensive job because it's inside the engine I would just use an oem pump on that no way aftermarket ones
