Weird knocking sound when idling on Mitsubishi Lancer

Hey, I have a Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0, 2007 (2003-2007), manual, gasoline. Wondering if anyone has an idea what could be causing the knocking sound on my car. The knock only happens when I have the car on idle, without pressing the clutch and when you press the clutch pedal in the sound is gone. Secondly, it only appears to be knocking kind of randomly, sometimes it goes on for 2-5 minutes straight, might be silent for 5 minutes and sometimes it just keeps knocking every 10 secs, being silent for 5 and being compeltely random. Knock does not increase with revs, and I have checked the following so far, Alternator, pulleys and timing belt, serpentine belt, power streering, AC, Battery, Air intake/filter. Also it does not trip any codes or have check engine light. The car has around 240k kilometers driven.

Well if you press in the clutch and the noise goes away then it is internal. Either you have a problem with a clutch or bearings inside the transmission. Pray it's just a problem with the clutch which is a lot cheaper to fix and rebuilding the transmission. If you do replace the clutch, get an entire clutch kit with all the parts. Since it's expensive pull off the transmission. You don't want to guess with one part versus another buy a whole kit
