Hi,
I wanted to know what your thoughts are on a Nissan Versa Hatch with a Manual transmission. I know the Jatco automatic CVTs are junk but what about the manuals. I am looking for a beater car that gets very good gas mileage as a daily driver.
You are correct, those Versas are much better and more reliable with a manual transmission. They are kind of on the cheaper end so they ride a little rough and there is a decent amount of road/tire noise on the inside. As you mentioned, it would be a perfect beater car just to put miles on - they are very inexpensive to use as a daily driver. If you can get it cheap enough, it should serve that purpose very well for you.
for a beater sure why not as long as you don't pay much for it. The only issue other than the transmission is the overall low quality it is a very low end car so just be aware of that.
In a stick it’s an awesome beat around car the engine as long as you change the oil is reliable
