What brands make quality aftermarket subaru parts?
bought this junker for a song and the engine just purrs at idle (passes head gasket and ring tests).
Objective: get the car running well without breaking my budget (avoiding OEM where feasible).
What I need to know: What brands make QUALITY AFFORDABLE aftermarket Subaru parts for theses applications:
Parts needed:
strut shock absorbers
strut mounts
drive shaft
control arm bushing

Thanks DW. Most of what I have to add is negative. Scotty’s favorite brake Akebono only has slim Pickens for Subaru. I’ve installed Powerstop brakes 3 times; they have several choices but overall I am only “meh”. Honestly, I’d just go with Autozone’s house brand for most of those things. Avoid Amazon.
@Dad2pwd can you copy and paste your answer into the ‘Your Answer’ section below? Thank you.
I would go to your local auto parts store like AutoZone (as mentioned above) or Advanced Auto Parts and see what they recommend. OEM is the best and I know you said you are on a budget but if you could fit that in, then you will be good.
I always look for parts that have a limited lifetime warranty from the major chains, AutoZone, O'Reilly, etc. I don't care if they are made in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Whateverstan.
