Hey Scotty what do you think about a Chevy s10 I’m thinking about getting a 1998 V6 Version or a 2004 S10 V6. I’ve seen some at 150,000 miles would it still be worth buying?
2nd generation of S10 series, body-on-frame rwd, later became Colorado/Canyon. General purpose mid-sized pickup.
4.3 engine fair, weak hp (200 or less when new), fair mpg, V6 cramped engine compartment makes any servicing "interesting"
4L60E transmission lots of problems.
Edmunds rates annual service cost in $800 - $1,200 range, fair parts availability depending on region.
Most owners don't bother fixing them after 120,000 - 180,000 miles.
LOL
2.2 would be the better choice for The Trans holds up better the 5 speed manuel is the better choice f your getting the v6 but where im from we fix them cheap and they don't seem to die as long as you keep up with it, now check it for rust and pay special attention to any rusty lines behind the drivers wheel well but auto bad with v6 if you need an auto go with the 2.2 4 cyl
